WHAT KIND OF CHURCH IS BETHEL?

We are an independent Baptist church.  That simply means our church makes decisions for itself based solely on scripture.  Being an independent Baptist doesn't mean that we are an island unto our self.  We fellowship with other churches that are similar to us through an organization known as the Baptist Bible Fellowship International.  We mutually support missionaries and the Baptist Bible College to train men and women for ministry.  There aren't any doctrinal differences between independent Baptists and Southern Baptists.  The differences are organizational and the way we support missions. 

WHAT IS YOUR DOCTRINE LIKE?

Our position on doctrine is bible based not traditon based. Some words that could be used to describe it are: baptist, conservative, fundamental, evangelical and dispensational.  Check out our beliefs page to learn more about the details of our doctrine. 

WHAT PROGRAMS/ACTIVITIES DO YOU PROVIDE FOR ADULTS?

We offer a variety of opportunities for you to be involved. 

Our Ladies meet weekly for Bible study on Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM .  We also host several special events for ladies throughout the year. Each year a group of women from our church attend a women's conference. 

We have a Men's Breakfast one Staurday a month. Our Men also meet each Thursday evening for Bible study at 6:30 PM.

Our Biker Ministry provides an opportunity for those who ride motorcycles to fellowship together while enjoying their hobbby. Our Bikers ride together at least once a month together for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We have never been big on dress codes or made a big deal about what people wear. It seems somewhat superficial to us.  People tend to dress up a little nicer for the Sunday morning service but some come back a little more relaxed for the evening service.  

HOW LONG DO YOUR MORNING SEVICES LAST?

Our Sunday Morning Worship Service usually lasts about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT IN YOUR SERVICE?

We usually begin our service with worship music. Our congregational singing usually consists of hymns, praise and worship.  The style of our special music and soloists consist of a variety of styles from contemporary Chistian music to traditional.  We believe worship should be blended to reflect the varying styles of music enjoyed by both the young and the old alike. We have an orchestra and a praise team.

After the worship portion of the service has prepared our hearts to receive the message, our pastor preaches a stirring and inciteful message, always providing an opportunity for people to respond to what they have just heard.  

We believe that worship is important in church, but we believe that the emphasis of any service should be on the Word of God.  There must be a healthy balance.   

 HOW DOES A PERSON JOIN YOUR CHURCH?

Towards the end of our Sunday Morning Service we offer an invitation for people to come forward to make decisions concerning salvation, church membership, surrender for service or personal spiritual questions/concerns.

We accept new members in three different ways.

1. Salvation followed by baptism by immersion.

2. The promise of a letter of membership from  
   another church of like faith.

3. A statement of faith and baptism by immersion.

WHAT IS THE SIZE OF YOUR CHURCH?

Our average Sunday morning attendance is around 200 and growing.
